
Will.i.am says he would encourage everyone to switch to a plant-based diet after he dropped 20lbs following the introduction of a vegan regime.
The Black Eyed Peas star decided to change his lifestyle after seeing his health suffer, and now says he feels disgusted by the idea of eating meat.
Speaking to Arianna Huffington on her Thrive Global podcast, the producer explained that he changed his routine a year ago following a lifetime of bad habits.
I was eating bad, sleeping bad. No regiment, Will, 43 said.
I was going to sleep around 5:00 in the morning…I would argue with people like, All I need is like two hours a day. Like boom a catnap and a catnap and Im just ready to go.
He began to suffer with high blood pressure and cholesterol as a result, along with acid re-flux [and] nasal drip.

After years of insisting he could cope, Will finally sought advice from medical professionals.

I went to my doctor and he said, Hey. Your high blood pressure is like youre 60. And your cholesterol. Where heart disease and diabetes runs in your family, you should take control of that,” he explained.
Since then, hes developed an aversion to meat and fish. He told Arianna: You dont need the meat, you dont need to have decaying flesh in your body.
The more I think about it I was like, Ew. I was just, I had death in me. Decayed flesh and crazy chemicals I cant pronounce.
You wouldnt put that s— in your car.

Its not just Will.i.ams diet thats had an overhaul. Earlier this year on the Graham Norton Show, he also spoke of how he cycles to work to keep his body healthy.
He said: I ride my bike and have a bike outfit. I wear a mask, my glasses, a helmet and a hoodie – I look like a ninja!
