Shes already queen of reality TV, but now Kim Kardashian can also add descendant of Scottish royalty to her list of titles after digging into her family tree.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star discovered that shes a relative of Scottish outlaw turned folk hero, Robert Roy MacGregor, and can even trace her lineage down to one of Scotlands first kings.
The 38-year-olds link to Rob Roy gives the reality star a direct claim to royal descent, with the stars family tree stretching as far as the first King of Scots Kenneth MacAlpin.
The surprising family discovery was uncovered by Scottish journalist and researcher Craig Williams, who took an interest in the Kardashian clans history after reading about the familys fascination with Scottish names.
For example, older sister Kourtney named her daughter with ex Scott Disick, Penelope Scotland Disick, saluting their Scottish ancestry through mother Kris Jenner.

According to Mr Williams, Kim descends from the McGregor clan via her great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather Thomas MacGee, who was born in Scotland in 1645 before emigrating to the US in 1670.
Speaking to the Daily Record, the journalist said: This all came about because I had seen the name of Kims niece [via Kourtney Kardashian] was Penelope Scotland Disick.
I thought the family must be aware of a Scottish background. And sure enough, when I searched the historical records, there it was.
I had no idea they would be linked to such a towering figure from Scottish history though.
And as the MacGregors claim direct descent from Scottish kings, maybe Kim could have a claim on the throne.

And if the news of being Scottish Royalty wasnt enough, the life of Robert Roy MacGregors life was turned into a whole film back in 1995, starring none other than Liam Neeson as the head of the proud Highlands clan.
In the film, Neesons gang – the MacGregors – have a famous motto which ironically says: Royal is my race as they chimed they had a direct claim to the throne.
