Kanye Wests recent Twitter reawakening has, without a doubt, made his life even busier than it probably already was.

But hes not letting technology creep into his personal life, and he doesnt want his fans to let it happen to them either.

The world famous rapper-turned-political-theorist-turned-philosopher tweeted a suggestion for his followers on Monday afternoon, warning them about the dangers of cell phone overuse.

“Look at your phone as tool not an obligation,” he said. “Would you walk around with a hammer in your pocket? You would pick up a hammer when you needed it you would never be addicted or obligated to it. Use your phone like a hammer only pick it up when you need it.”

Some people say Kanye West has gone off the rails. But I actually completely agree with this sentiment. Its got to be one of my biggest pet peeves when Im hanging out with friends and they cant get their noses out of their phones. And theyre not even looking at anything important. Unless a close family member is in desperate need, my phone is away if Im out. Doesnt matter how fun Twitter, Instagram, or any other platform is. Thats just common respect. Kanye couldnt be more right on this one.
