Being obsessed with the British Royal family might actually be bad for your health.

Reuters had an outstanding article recently about how Prince Harrys wedding to Meghan Markle could be causing some serious problems for people and their obsession.

Reuters reported the following:

Sue Varma, a psychiatrist and clinical assistant professor at New York University Langone Medical Center, said fandom can safely intensify into a mild obsession but when it deepens, it can raise red flags.

“I absolutely dont have a problem with somebody having an obsession with the royal family. I dont think thats the problem in and of itself,” Varma told Reuters.

“Its the lack of other activities, the lack of flexibility, the fact that youre taking away time from something else. Is this time that you could have been spending with your kids? Is this time you could be talking with your partner?”

Would this be a good time for me to remind everybody that only the crazy people care deeply about the British royal family? I understand if youre British and care about the royal family. That is at least understandable.

Whats not understandable is if youre an American and care. Did everybody forget that we fought a war against those guys, and a bunch of our farmers sent them crawling back over the ocean. Did everybody forget about this little fun piece of history. Im glad we now have some proof that these obsessions are ridiculous.

I will never understand Americans that care about these people. Congrats, they had some influence a long time ago. Sweet, but this is America. In America we dont celebrate people who dont win, and the history books tell us the King of England was the runner-up in the Revolutionary War. They can keep their tea and weird traditions. Well keep the winning.
