Screenwriter Mardik Martin has died aged 82.
The movie talent, who is best known for his work on movies such as Raging Bull and Mean Streets, passed away on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
His death was confirmed by fellow screenwriter Howard Rodman via Twitter as he paid tribute to his friend.
No further details surrounding Mardiks death have yet been given.
Rodman remembered the star fondly, as he commented that nobody will be able to replace his talent.

Mardik was originally born in Iran and raised in Iraq, before moving to the US to study economics at university.
It was at NYU that his passion for film began to grow and he later met legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese in 1961.
He began working with Scorsese on some of his early films, including Whos That Knocking At My Door?, before teaming up with the filmmaker once again on Raging Bull.
Mardik later won himself a Golden Globe nomination for his work on the 1980 movie, based on boxer Jake LaMottas memoir of the same name.

It was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Robert De Niro, who had starred as LaMotta, won Best Actor – Drama at the awards.
De Niro also picked up the Academy Award for Best Actor, after Raging Bull received eight Oscar nods.
Mardiks last screenplay credit was in 2014 for his work on The Cut, directed by Faith Akin.
