Marvel and Disneys recent partnership doesnt seem to be hurting for money.
Thats because “Avengers: Infinity Wars” just tied “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” to become the most lucrative movie in North America, clocking in at $300 million in just its first week. (RELATED: AVENGERS: INFINITY WARS EXPECTED TO MAKE A SICKENING AMOUNT OF MONEY)
According to the Hollywood Reporters numbers, the superhero blockbuster is quickly getting close to the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.
“Disney and Marvels Avengers: Infinity War is approaching $1 billion at the worldwide box office faster than any film in history time after finishing Tuesday with $808.4 million in global ticket sales, including clearing the $300 million mark domestically in record time,” the Hollywood Reporter says.
Assuming these early numbers are correct, “Avengers: Infinity Wars” would be the most, or second most, successful action movie in Hollywood next to “Force Awakens.”
“Avengers: Infinity Wars” prequel, “Avengers,” had the largest superhero open at $207.4 million. Marvels “Black Panther” opened right behind that at $202 million.
But this recent installment of Avengers has well surpassed both movies and its showing no signs of slowing down.
