Robert De Niro is being counter-sued for gender discrimination by an ex-employee in a $12 million (£9.6 million) lawsuit.

The former employee, Graham Chase Robinson, accused the actor of using sexist language, including describing women as c***s and b****es.

He is also said to have referred to Robinson, his executive assistant, as his office wife.

The suit, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, went on to say that she was underpaid in comparison to male co-workers, that De Niro joked to her about his Viagra prescription, and that he subjected her to gratuitous physical unwanted contact, and sexually charged comments.

The lawsuit says: Robert De Niro is someone who has clung to old mores. He does not accept the idea that men should treat women as equals.

He does not care that gender discrimination in the workplace violates the law. Ms. Robinson is a casualty of this attitude.

The 76-year-old previously filed a suit against Robinson, accusing her of binge-watching Friends at work and embezzling money.

The lawsuit report stated that over the four-day period between Tuesday, January 8 and Friday, January 11, 2019, 55 episodes of Friends were accessed. On top of her binge, the report also stated that Robinson also watched 32 episodes of Friends on a single Saturday.

Variety also reported that over a four-day period the former production and finance vice-president binge watched 20 episodes of Arrested Development and 10 episodes of Schitts Creek.

The suit added: Watching shows on Netflix was not in any way part of or related to the duties and responsibilities of Robinsons employment and, on information and belief, was done for her personal entertainment, amusement and pleasure at times when she was being paid to work.

Robinson denies the claims in her suit, arguing that the actor had approved transactions she made and that she never binge-watched anything at work.

The document also mentions the allegations made by the actor against his former employee, saying: Now, when her name is Googled, these allegations pop up on the screen. The results have been devastating to Ms. Robinson. Her reputation and her career have been destroyed.
