Spencers love life has been ruined by his father (Picture: Twitter)

Last night all eyes were on Piers Morgan and Ariana Grande, as the Good Morning Britain presenter and US popstar got into a right royal battle on social media.

After Piers continued to question the motives of Little Mix, believing their latest music video for Strip is a ploy to use nudity to sell records, the Thank U, Next singer came out swinging as she got in the girl groups corner.

Taking the bait, Piers continued the fight, but Ariana returned serve with some savage replies – showing she really wasnt here to play.

And, unfortunately for Piers son, Spencer, it appeared his chances with the superstar were all but shattered after his fathers fracas.

Sorry, mate.

Taking to Twitter in response to one of Aris hits, he wrote: Ahh ffs there go my chances.

Piers, perhaps feeling sorry for the lad, or perhaps knowing Ariana would be watching his Twitter feed and felt this was his one chance to give his son a leg-up to the superstar, retweeted his sons message.

Followers had a good lol at Spencers expense, but we can only imagine the rocks hed be kicking this morning as the dust settles on his failed crack at Ariana.

It all came to a head yesterday when Ariana stood up for her mother, Joan, who went after Piers, after he went after Ellen DeGeneres (remember that offense vortex Susanna Reid was talking about earlier this week?).

Its basically a celebrity all-in right now. Forget Logan Paul and KSI – THIS is the celebrity bout of the year.

After telling the GMB host and journalist she uses talent AND sexuality in her day job because she chooses to, she then added: Also @piersmorgan, I look forward to the day you realise there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do.

I think thatll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or whats left of it.

The Piers vs Little Mix is basically the feud that wouldnt die this week, as Piers continued to kick the boot into the groups message, with the four piece, made up of Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards, hitting back in tune.

Despite their latest release being a certified bop, Piers yesterday was fuming at the idea: What is empowering about this? Get your kit off, airbrush yourself to within an inch of your lives…

In the clip the band paints words that had previously been used against them as slurs on their body in a way to reclaim them, and the clip has been praised by body confidence advocates.

But Piers is not a fan as he added: Whats the point of it? Using nudity to sell their album.

After inviting the group onto the show (hes also done the same with Ariana, so we can only imagine the producers arent getting much sleep right now), he said: If they want to be gobby on the radio, thats fine, Ive got my problem… but if youve got the balls come on this programme and say it to my face.

We will then discuss what I think is a cynical exploitation for your millions of young female fans by using nudity and airbrushed images which they can never aspire to be in real life to sell your records.

Were sure there is still a popstar out there for Spencer, though – chin up, champ.
