Many restaurants and cafes have eat this meal in under 30 minutes and youll get it for free competitions – but most of us crash and burn when we realise three steaks was a bit too much to take on.

But if theres any food challenges you want to take on, you may want to bring Pete Doherty along for assistance.

In what is probably todays oddest news, The Libertines frontman has absolutely smashed a mega breakfast challenge, devouring a full English breakfast, toast, chips and a burger in less than 20 minutes.

You have to admit, thats impressive.

The 39-year-old is apparently living in Margate, and paid a visit to the Dalby Cafe in Cliftonville for some brekkie.

And it seems Pete was very peckish, as he didnt order a sausage sandwich, or even an English breakfast.

No, the Cant Stand Me Now singer ordered the mega breakfast which consists of – deep breath – four eggs, four bacon, four sausages, a quarter pounder burger, chips, hash browns, onion rings, bubble, beans or tomatoes (Pete opted for baked beans), mushroom, two slices of thick bread and a cup of tea.

The Dalby Cafe offers the mammoth breakfast for free if whoever orders it cleans their plate in 20 minutes or less – and Pete did it in 19 minutes, 30 seconds.

The cafes Facebook page shared pictures of Pete – dressed in a patterned shirt and a check coat – tucking into the huge meal, while another saw him looking rather proud of himself in front of an empty platter.

Pete also had a bottle of Yazoo on the table, just in case his stomach felt a little empty.

The Dalby Cafe owner Mark Ezekiel said that the challenge has been going since 2004, and only five or six people have completed it in under 20 minutes, while just 16 have completed it in general.

He told Kent Live: He really surprised us that he managed it. He might be slim, but he is very tall. Hes 6ft 3.

He wolfed two thirds of it down in six or seven minutes. Usually we get people who eat quite a lot of it at first, but then they hit the wall and they cant go on anymore.

He surprised everyone. He smashed it. He finished it in under 20 minutes as well so he got it for free.

Pete seems to be making himself right at home in Margate – The Libertines were named shirt sponsors for Margate Football Club for the 2018/19 season, with the indie bands iconic logo splashed on the players jerseys.

The band has also bought a hotel in Cliftonville, renaming The Palm Court Hotel as The Albion Rooms.

The passage of time is weird, isnt it?
