With $250,000 in their bank account and the honour of being crowned this year's My Kitchen Rules winners, Emily O'Kane and Alex Clark have their sights set on opening their own restaurant.

But if you think the pair didn't deserve to win, you may find you aren't welcome.

"The people we want in our venue are the friends and family who believed in us from the beginning and saw our passion for cooking," Emily said. "Certainly not the people saying those things online. It's crazy how many people tell us we can't cook – but I swear I can."

The Gold Coast couple have been the victims of a relentless online shame campaign since the finale aired on Sunday night which saw them beat Melbourne mothers Kim and Soung.

Some viewers were outraged over the judging, accusing producers of rigging the final result.

Their evidence? Guest judge Liz Egan criticising the pair's lobster dish but still giving them 10 out of 10.

It's not the first time Alex and Emily have had to deal with allegations of cruising through the competition. Earlier this year, the pair were given a perfect score during an elimination round despite serving up undercooked pork.

But Emily has no time for people questioning her win, pointing to similar allegations in other years.

"There have been serious trolls out there," she said. "Honestly, it's so disappointing there's people out there that think they know us. Yes, it is a TV show and they're only going off what they see and everyone is allowed an opinion. But people are sending horrific personal messages.

"If it was up to Alex and I, we probably wouldn't even have social media. As much as we love all the support, it's such a negative space having hundreds of people saying how much they hate you."

Around 1.3 million people tuned in to watch the My Kitchen Rules grand final on Sunday evening across the capital cities. The show will return next year for its tenth season.
