Everyone's favourite magician turned reality TV star has traded in his Bachelor in Paradise suit for a trip to the recording studio.

Former Sophie Monk suitor Apollo Jackson has revealed he is releasing a debut single later this month. The news bolsters his already impressive performing arts resume, having worked as an escapologist and also as a stunt double on the set of Thor: Ragnarok.

In a video uploaded to his Facebook account, the budding TV personality told fans he was excited to try something new.

"As you know, the last few years of my life have been pretty crazy," he said. "One thing that's always kept me grounded is my music. So over the last few years I've been writing and making a lot of music, but haven't shared it with anyone until now."

The single, called With You, is set to be released on May 25. The former Sophie Monk suitor is also performing the night before the official debut at Sydney's Greenwood Hotel, followed by events in Mackay and Darwin.

Jackson told fans he wrote the single while going through a "really dark time" in his life.

"It's just about seeing life in a different way," he said. "I'm really excited about this and can't wait to start sharing more music with you guys."

Listeners can expect the TV star's music style to be a mixture of pop and electronic dance music, according to his website.

The announcement glossed over the fact a single titled Addiction was meant to be released on iTunes last year to coincide with the finale of The Bachelorette. However, it never saw the light of day.

Jackson was last seen leaving Bachelor in Paradise last month with fellow contestant Simone Ormesher. He later confirmed they were no longer dating.

"We didn't work out on the outside," he said. "It was mostly the distance thing because I'm mostly based on the Gold Coast and in Sydney, a little bit, and she's in Melbourne. Nothing romantically evolved."
