Two Guardians from Destiny 2: Shadowkeep charging towards a fight

Theres no rush for Destiny 3, as Destiny 2 still has a lot more to come (Picture: Bungie)

Bungie dont have any plans for Destiny 3 in the immediate future, as they discuss their five year vision for Destiny 2.

If that sounds like a long time, bear in mind that the release of expansion Shadowkeep on 1 October will be the start of the games third year of content. But even so, that means Bungie has plans that will potentially keep Destiny 2 going until 2022.

That doesnt necessarily mean that Destiny 3 wont be announced, or even released, before then but its certainly not something that sounds like its coming any time soon.

As well as Shadowkeep next month, theres also the free-to-play version of the base game called Destiny 2: New Light, which is certain to increase interest in the franchise – especially as its being heavily promoted via Google Stadia.

You havent seen darkness. Not yet.

The new ViDoc video below shows an estimate of how much content is coming to Destiny in the next few months and years.

Once Shadowkeep is officially released, therell be a plethora of new content primarily in the form of season pass updates. Bungie has stated that there will be four season passes for expansion Shadowkeep and the first one, Season Of The Undying, is free for those that purchase the expansion.
