Mel B has lost her appeal after being sued by her former nanny Lorraine Gilles for defamation.

Gilles claimed the Spice Girl called her a homewrecker and a prostitute in relation to Mels divorce from Stephen Belafonte.

It is said that the pair took part in threesomes with Stephen.

Now the appeal has been lost, the nanny can speak openly about her relationship with the singer during the trial.

It has been said that Los Angeles judge Dalila Lyons has advised Mel to try and resolve her issues with her former employee outside of court – as the upcoming trial could cost the star $2million (£1.5million).

Chatting to The Daily Mail, a source claimed that Mel had been trying to keep her Gilles silent.

They said: Mel has been trying to keep Lorraine silent the longest, she knows more than anyone what happened Mels marriage to Stephen. But now at a jury trial she can reveal everything, theres no holding back.

Lorraine had no choice but to settle her restraining order because the legal bills were getting so high. But the judge said she did have the right to sue for defamation which she decided to do.

They added: Lorraine has a mountain of evidence to present including all the sex tapes and videos of [alleged] drug use submitted as part of Mel and Stephens divorce battle.

Because Lorraine was involved in that, all parties had to share all of their evidence with one anothers lawyers, so she has absolutely everything.

It has been reported that Mel argued she had no other way to get a restraining order against Stephen than to name Lorraine.

However, the court disagreed with her, and sent the case to trial.

The first hearing date has been set for 4 February, 2019.
