Mark Salling’s child pornography case has come to a halt after the star’s was found dead last week.

The former Glee star was found hanged last week just a few miles from his home, weeks after entering a guilty plea to child porn possession.

Now his legal opposition are requesting that the federal judge who was hearing the case dismisses the incident, according to TMZ.

After entering his guilty plea Salling faced four to seven years in prison.

He was also set to pay a $250,000 (£179,225) fine and $50,000 (£35,845) to any victim who came forward.

Prosecutors reportedly want the indictment dismissed ‘without prejudice’ meaning they could later refile the case.

However this could not possibly happen, as once a defendant dies the case is over.

The 35-year-old died in the early hours of last Tuesday morning (30 January) and his body was found in a riverbed six miles away from his Sunland home.

He had previously attempted suicide in August whilst awaiting trail on child pornography charges.

Two months later he was seen in court and he revealed to the judge that he was taking medication for depression.

Salling owned more than 50,000 images and 600 videos showing girls as young as three being raped.

Apparently he showed these to an ex-girlfriend who was horrified by what she saw and therefore turned him into the authorities.
