Kanye West says the “Taylor Swift Moment” was one of the reasons for the nervous breakdown he had in 2016.

“Really, ever since the Taylor Swift moment” it just never been the same, the connection with radio. Its like whatever powers that be it was much harder after that,” the 40-year-old rapper shared in a video posted Tuesday from his interview with Charlamagne, according to TMZ.

West noted that his connection to radio changed after he and Kim Kardashian posted a video that suggested Swift knew about her part in the lyrics for his song “Famous.” He said his radio play after his album “Life of Pablo” came out was never the same and that it really affected him, leading to his hospitalization in November 2016.

Later, he called the breakdown a “breakthrough” and said the “humility” he experienced helped him grow.

“It was incredible, because it was a forced amount..it was forced humility,” West shared. “Previously, I would have looked at humility more as a negative thing. But also that humility gave me time to grow.”

It happens at the 35:00 minute mark.

At one point in the same interview, he also talked about his support for President Donald Trump and wearing the “Make America Great Again” hat, according to Rolling Stone magazine.

“I dont have all the answers that a celebritys supposed to have,” the rapper explained. “But, I can tell you that, when he [Trump] was running, its like I felt something. The fact that he won, it proves something. It proves that anything is possible in America.”

“Donald Trump can be president of America. Im not talking about what hes done since hes in office,” he added. “But the fact that he was able to do it–remember when I said I was gonna run for President? I had people that was close to me, friends of mine, making memes, talking shit, now its like, oh, that was proven that that could have happened … from what weve been doing in fashion to me wearing the pink polos, to me being out-spoken, to me being ostracized because of the Taylor Swift thing, or the George Bush thing, who Im dating, who Im marrying, who Im talking about, all of this is an outsider thing. When I see an outsider infiltrate, I connect with that.”
