Movie producer Judd Apatow, Will & Grace star Eric McCormack and film director Kevin Smith are among those thought to have reportedly donated money to a teenager who was left with life-threatening injuries in a Florida school shooting.
Anthony Borges was shot multiple times while attempting to save others last week in the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and a Go Fund Me page was later set up to help with his hospital bills.
According to the Go Fund Me page, Anthony took bullets to both legs and his back while trying to lock a classroom full of classmates.
He now has a ‘long road of recovery ahead’ but the fund has raised over $400,000 already.
Judd and Kevin are thought to have donated $1000 while Eric both donated $500.
Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for the three for comment.
The Florida school shooting has so far left 17 dead after a 19-year-old former student Nikolas Cruz who had been expelled from the high school in Parkland was arrested over the shooting.
Sheriff Scott Israel of Broward County said the gunman had at least one rifle and multiple magazines, and most of the fatalities were inside the building though some were found outside.
The deadly shooting is the 18th school shooting in the USA in 2018; gun campaign group Everytown for Gun Safety said 17 school shootings had happened this year before gunman Nicolas Cruz opened fire at the school 45 miles north of Miami.
