Jimmy Osmond has suffered a stroke.
The 55-year-old former pop star was due to play Captain Hook in Peter Pan at the Birmingham Hippodrome.
A spokesperson for Jimmy Osmond said: On the evening of Thursday December 27th after pushing through the evenings performance of Peter Pan at Birmingham Hippodrome, Jimmy Osmond was driven straight to hospital and diagnosed with a stroke.
He is grateful for all the well wishes and will be taking time out in the new year.
The venue confirmed he would not be appearing in Mondays New Years Eve performance.
Everyone here at Birmingham Hippodrome has been deeply saddened to hear of Jimmys sudden illness, the venue shared.
Jimmy loved being a part of the Hippodromes well-renowned panto, and his portrayal of Captain Hook was both dastardly and heartwarming.

He won the adoration not just of our audiences, but also of all our staff – we all send Jimmy and his family very best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Darren Day will replace Jimmy in upcoming performances.
Jimmy was born in April 1963, and was he youngest member of the musical family known as The Osmonds.
The Osmonds were one of the worlds biggest pop bands in the 1970s, with hits including Crazy Horses and Love Me For A Reason; Jimmy regularly performed on stage with the group.
As a solo artist, he has been awarded six gold records, one platinum record, and two gold albums.
He is most famous for his song Long Haired Lover from Liverpool.
In 1972 – when he was nine-years-old – The Guinness Book of World Records designated him the youngest performer to have a number one single on the UK Singles Chart.
