Jack Whitehall’s presenting skills at the Brit Awards were widely praised and he seemed to have won over most – except for Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson.

The two had a very awkward exchange during the awards ceremony when Jack went over to Little Mix’s table and poked fun at an online video where Jesy attempts to imitate a Jamaican accent.

He said: ‘Last month you hit three billion views on YouTube and only 2 billion of those are from people trying to watch you do a Jamaican accent Jesy.’

While Jesy’s bandmates Jade Thirwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pillock all looked shocked and then tried their hardest to stop themselves from laughing, Jesy looked less than pleased with the remark.

She gave the camera a stone-faced glance and then tried to laugh the remark off, although she still looked pretty annoyed.

In 2014, a video of the foursome went viral when they played a game of imitating various accents.

Jesy pulled ‘Jamaican’ out of a hat and after a moment of hesitation, she uttered an incomprehensible word that sounded like ‘balagedeh’, much to the delight of the internet.

Not one to be put off, Jack carried on and asked the 26-year-old whether she thought the group’s fans would be voting for them to win for Best Video.

She answered: ‘I mean I hope so. They are the most dedicated fans, so loyal. So, yeah.’

The former X Factor star came under fire recently after posting a photo of herself to Instagram wearing dreadlocks.

The post attracted more than 10,000 comments and fans quickly got into debates with each other over whether the hairstyle could be considered cultural appropriation.

One user wrote: ‘I’m advising her to delete it cuz it is offensive. even though i’m a big fan of her and I really love her.’

However, another came to Jesy’s defense and said: ‘I personally think her hair looks amazing and its up to herb how she has her hair sure people just like hearing the sound of their own voice these days, Jesy could wear a bin bag and still look gorgeous.’
