Fortnite Battle Pass season 2 is extended which means a longer wait for season 3

Epic Games has announced that it has extended season 2 of its Battle Pass, meaning that players will have to wait longer for the season 3 release.

The Fortnite Battle Pass enables players to unlock new items for their playable character such as emotes, skins and unique gliders.

Fortunately for players who have already completed season 2 the battle pass has only been extended by one day, which means that it will end on 21st February instead of 20th.

This could mean that players will see the season 3 collectables launched on 22nd February which would tie-in with the game’s weekly update schedule which usually happens on Thursdays.

What is a Battle Pass?

Fortnite players can get the Battle Pass to unlock a variety of items that can be used to customise their character including skins, emotes and glider designs.

You get a number of rewards as soon as you get your Battle Pass, but you can unlock plenty more items by levelling-up.

Players can do this by completing daily challenges and increasing the level of their player rank by performing well in the game.

This progress then unlocks tiers in the Battle Pass which lets players unlock more rewards.

There are over 65 items that can be obtained during a season of Battle Pass, which Epic Games says can be achieved within 75-150 hours of play.
