Holly Willoughby has shared her heartache at watching her son Chester walk through the school doors for the first time as she dropped him off today.

The This Morning presenter had producers move heaven and earth in order for her to make the meaningful school run – but we have a feeling she wouldnt have let anything get in the way of seeing her youngest off.

While she was front and centre for her return to the ITV show alongside Phillip Schofield, perhaps the allowance meant she was able to ditch the pre-show meetings.

Thats work/life balance done right, right there.

Taking to Instagram, the 38-year-old shared a shot of herself holding hands with four-year-old Chester as they strolled through the gates.

Despite Hollys normal sunny disposition, she admitted she was emotional at the goodbye.

And hes off… full of a whole host of emotions watching him walk through the classroom door… my baby is growing up… Holly wrote on Monday morning.

Thank you @thismorning for moving heaven and earth so I could drop him off… thats a day we will both never forget.

Her followers were there in spirit, sending their strength as Kate Thornton wrote: Good luck Chester! Tissues at the ready Hol x

Another fan was behind Holly being able to take the morning meetings off for the momentous occasion as they added: Its a seriously special time. First day drop off should be mandatory leave for all working parents!! X

That was echoed by another who felt Holly just had to be there: Doesnt matter who you are. There is no way you can miss special moments like this. So glad they managed to sort this out for you. Hope he has the best day.

Yesterday the presenter, who shares three children with husband Dan Baldwin, Chester, Belle, eight, and Harry, 10, was busy prepping the kids for their first day as she shared a shot of their fresh school shoes lined up in the family home.
