Elden Ring Release Date, Xbox Trailer, Gameplay Reveal Time: Latest news from E3 2019 (Pic: Daily Star)
Here we go, while yesterday saw EA Play, E3 starts today. The first of the big three, no wait, big two conferences comes in the form of the Microsoft Xbox conference. It's only the beginning of E3, but today is almost guaranteed to be wild with new announcements and excitement.
Microsoft should have a lot to talk about so we can expect the conference to be around the two-hour mark. This will be one of the longest yet, but it makes sense as there is no Sony to contend with so they can just storm the stage.
Microsoft's Xbox conference will be kicking off at 9 pm BST (That's 1 pm Pacific, 4 pm Eastern, and 9 pm CEST, for those of you not stuck in the UK)
Last year had Microsoft showing off all of the studios they had acquired, while this year may well see some of that bear fruit. It may well be that the games shown are only concepts though. After all, things do take a fair amount of time in this industry, but it's still plausible to see some exciting new exclusives for the Xbox family of consoles.
I say family because we are also likely to see the brand-new consoles being shown off, or at least some details given about them. There are meant to be two next-generation consoles in development from Microsoft, so it would be really nice to see just why that is. Maybe we'll even get a release date and some next-gen games too.
Elden Rune – What We Know So Far
FromSoftware is the creators of the Dark Souls games. A series that is so intensely influential that it's kind of ruined things for a lot of people. Most recently they released the exceptional Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Thanks to a somewhat unfortunate Bandai Namco leak the other day, we already have a thick description of the game. Here it is:
Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware, Inc. and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., is a fantasy action-RPG adventure set within a world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki—creator of the influential Dark Souls video game series; and George R.R. Martin—author of The New York Times best-selling fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Danger and discovery lurk around every corner in FromSoftwares largest game to-date.

George R.R. Martin is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of many novels, including the acclaimed series A Song of Ice and Fire – A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast For Crows, and A Dance with Dragons. As a writer-producer, he has worked on The Twilight Zone, Beauty and the Beast, and various feature films and pilots that were never made.
Obviously, this is still just a glossy overview, and all it really tells us is that beyond what most already knew, it's a fantasy action-RPG. So stand by for that first trailer and a whole lot more info to back up this already exciting collab.
