Cardi B has just released her new single, Money, but ironically the rapper has been forced to deny reports that she demanded a million dollar pay cheque to perform at the Super Bowl.

Go figure.

The Bodak Yellow rapper was allegedly in talks with the NFL to join Maroon 5 during the bands halftime show performance in February 2019, to perform their chart-topping collaboration Girls Like You.

A source claimed that Cardi was making big demands in their negotiations, including a $1 million (£791,400) fee.

Its important to note that the NFL never pays artists to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show – not even Beyonce or Madonna got a payday but they do tend to receive complimentary perks, such as production, wardrobe and transport expenses being covered.

An insider reportedly told Page Six of Cardis so-called demands: Cardi B is standing tough and holding out. She doesnt want to do it unless they roll out the red carpet for her.

Shutting down the claims, a rep said: The rumour circulating that she wants a million dollars and she wants her own set is false. There was never a firm offer to begin with for a performance.

There [were] talks about it, but she was not particularly interested in participating because of how she feels about Colin Kaepernick and the whole movement . . .

But again, there was never a solid offer for her to say yes or no to regarding the Super Bowl. She is already confirmed to do a set with Bruno Mars that weekend.

Cardi, 26, will join her Finesse collaborator Bruno for a headline show at the Super Bowl Music Fest, which takes place between 31 January and 4 February.

While Cardi will be absent from the halftime show stage, rapper Travis Scott has reportedly signed up as one of Maroon 5s special guests amid rumours that the band are struggling to find performers.

The Super Bowl halftime show will take place on 3 February.
