The daughter of Coronation Street’s Bill Roache died of liver failure.
Vanya Roache’s death left her father ‘utterly heartbroken’, and on Wednesday her partner admitted that her death was ‘sudden’.
Speaking from his two-bed bungalow near Chichester, West Sussex, Toby Evans said: ‘We are very private people, all the family are and so we don’t really want to speak about it.
‘Vanya was a nice person, a lovely person. It was a liver failure that she died of, it happened very quickly. But I don’t really want to talk about it, we’re very private people.’
Vanya, 50, passed away last week and Bill, 85, has been granted compassionate leave by ITV bosses.
‘No father should have to go through the loss of a child, let alone two. ITV are giving him all the time he needs but he’s understandably very upset,’ a source close to the show said.
‘After hearing the news on Friday he’s been told to take as long as required. There’s no word just yet on when he’ll return,’ the source told The Sun.

It’s the second child that Bill has lost; he and his second wife Sara Mottram – who died in 2009 aged 58 – lost their daughter Edwina to pneumonia aged 18 months in 1983. Vanya was his eldest daughter from his marriage to first wife Anna Cropper.
