Zoe Ball had a dramatic day during her Sport Relief bike ride for charity when an accident while riding left her feeling pretty shaken up and ‘anxious’.

The TV presenter is taking part in the 300-mile bike ride to pay tribute to her late boyfriend Billy Yates.

Zoe shared her accident with her followers on Twitter and said her tumble gave her ‘the jitters’ for the remainder of the ride.

In a video posted to her Twitter, she said: ‘A lot has happened. This morning we set off and there was ice on the road and mist rising and we took the ride down into Ironbridge it was quite magical, it was like Lord Of The Rings.

‘And then we hooked up with Harry, lovely Harry Judd, I can’t even work out how it happened but on a really steep climb out of Ironbridge and on a bend I took a tumble.

‘I’ve yet to watch it back but yeah it was a bit of a moment. It kind of set the jitters for the rest of the ride, I think, I was a little bit nervous and anxious.’

Sport Relief is a biennial charity event from Comic Relief which sees celebs and sports men and women attempt to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world’s poorest countries.

Since the last event, more than 50,000 people in the UK living with a mental health problem have been helped.

Speaking of her decision to take part, Zoe previously said: ‘I lost someone very dear to me who really struggled with depression and so it was really important that I did something,’ said Zoe of the decision to take part the Sport Relief challenge.

‘I’ve been training my heart out for the last few weeks in preparation for this epic, BT-sponsored challenge for Sport Relief. A few predictable and embarrassing falls and lots of chafing cream applied but thinking of the reason I signed up for this challenging adventure will spur me on,’ she added.

‘Knowing that every penny we raise will make such a difference to so many different people’s lives is a great feeling. I’ll also be joined by my incredible family and friends, who will be pushing me along the way. I hope that my endeavours inspire others to do something that moves them for Sport Relief too.’
