Beyonces father Mathew Knowles has announced he is battling breast cancer.

The 67-year-old music mogul, who is father of Beyonce and Solange Knowles, will detail his battle with the disease in a sit-down interview with Michael Strahan in Wednesdays episode of Good Morning America.

In a teaser clip shared on Tuesday, Michael asks the businessman: How was it to tell your family about the diagnosis?

Mathews answer will be revealed in tomorrows GMA episode.

According to the NHS, breast cancer is rare in men but occasionally occurs in those over the age of 60.

This is because men have a small amount of breast tissue behind their nipples where the cancer develops.

Mathew is responsible for managing Destinys Child and leading the girl group, featuring Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, to global success in the 1990s and early noughties.

He went on to manage his eldest daughters solo career but she ended their professional relationship in 2011.

The music executive was married to Beyonces mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, for 31 years until they divorced in 2011. They had separated in 2009 and Mathew has now remarried to Gena Charmaine Avery, while Tina tied the knot with actor Richard Lawson in 2015.

Beyonce, 38, is known to have a close relationship with her father despite her parents split and Mathew told Paper magazine earlier this year: I have a great relationship as a father with not just Beyoncé, but people forget I have this talented, gifted kid named Solange, who is a Grammy winner and has had a number one album.

People tend to think she does not exist.

He added of his bond with Beyonce and Solange: Its not a daily dialogue. Daughters tend to always gravitate to their mums more than their dads. I think its pretty standard in the universe, my relationship.
