Aled Jones has said he is ‘thankful’ for his family in a new interview amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

Aled is accused of sending inappropriate messages to a female colleague, with Aled voluntarily agreeing not to work while the investigation takes place.

The 46-year-old singer and Songs Of Praise presenter previously issued a statement saying he’s ‘deeply sorry’ caused but but vehemently denies any ‘inappropriate contact’.

In an interview given by the TV presenter just days before the allegations surfaced Jones said he will be spending time with his family over the festive period.

He has been married to Claire Fossett since 2001. They have two children together – Emelia, 15 and 12-year-old Lucas.

The Sun quotes Aled saying in an interview: ‘My family are everything to me. My kids are incredible human beings and I love being with them.

‘Our Christmas is very traditional – eat too much, drink too much and watch too much rubbish on TV.

‘I was away for a lot of their younger life, which was rubbish, but that was my job. They’re so interesting now, I’m so thankful I’m home and I love it.’

Aled first rose to fame in 1985 when he released a cover version of the song Walking in the Air, which reached number 5 in the UK singles chart.

Aled’s TV appearances over the Christmas period have been axed, including on Songs Of Praise on the BBC, and ITV special Make Christmas Great Again hosted by comedian Al Murray’s alter-ego The Pub Landlord.
