Xbox Games News: Next-gen xCloud gaming playable in London right now – but be quick! (Pic: DS)

This week, Microsoft opened its first European store in the shape of a huge flagship in London's West End.

Covering three floors, the brand new store offers eager consumers the latest technology, products and services from Microsoft and its partners – and to celebrate the opening of this massive new presence for the brand, Microsoft has imported its huge E3 showcase to London for a limited time only.

That means that players in the UK have their first chance to get hands-on with the likes of Gears 5 and its impressive Escape mode, the newly redesigned Battletoads from Rare and Dlala Studios, the new Minecraft Village & Pillage update and Forza Horizon 4 LEGO Speed Champions (the newest DLC from the hit racing game).

But, if that wasn't enough for you, Microsoft is also debuting some impressive new tech at the store – tech that could well shape the future of gaming.

Until 14th July, players will be able to get their hands on Project xCloud in the store.

This will be the first look outside of E3 at Xbox's bleeding edge new streaming tech – tech that will allow you play any Xbox title on your mobile phone or tablet, as long as you have an internet connection.

At the Oxford Circus flagship store, you have the opportunity to play games such as Forza Horizon 4, Halo Guardians and more, streaming to mobile devices via Project xCloud.

This is likely to be the only chance you're going to get to have hands-on with the service ahead of its public beta (which is set to go live in October).

We were lucky enough to get through the doors as soon as the flagship opened to try out xCloud on the shop floor – and we can tell you without hesitation that we were blown away by what Microsoft is achieving with xCloud.

xCloud will be available for the public to demo from today until July 14th when the store closes at 6pm.

As per Microsoft:

"From 11th to 14th July, part of the flagship will be transformed into an Xbox Showcase featuring some of the latest Xbox exclusive games direct from E3, playable for the first time in the UK.

"During the four-day gaming event, attendees will be among the first to get hands-on with the new Project xCloud streaming service and the chance to play some of the hottest upcoming titles like Gears 5."

Simply turn up to the store, head to the second floor and locate the xCloud booth as soon as you arrive.

Microsoft staff will be able to help you out if you're having issues. You may need to queue, but it all seemed pretty quick-moving whilst we were there.
