A TV star from the hit Bravo TV series “Southern Charm” is under investigation for alleged sexual assault.
Charleston, S.C. police confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday that Thomas Ravenel is being questioned and actively investigated after an unidentified woman filed a complaint against the reality TV star this week.
“An unidentified woman filed a report with the department on Monday in which she claimed she was sexually assaulted by the one time politician and reality TV star,” The Hollywood Reporter claims. “According to the police report, the alleged assault took place the second week of January 2015. No additional information was released.”
Its worth pointing out that Ravenel has a preexisting criminal record. In 2007, the former South Carolina treasurer was arrested for distributing cocaine while he was in office. He was federally charged and spent 10 months in prison.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, NBCUniversal (Bravos parent company), said “Haymaker, the production company for Southern Charm, and Bravo take allegations like these very seriously. Haymaker is conducting an investigation, and once all the information is gathered and carefully reviewed, appropriate action will be taken.”
