Titanfall 2 (PS4) - best friends forever

Titanfall 2 – thankfully there is going to be another one

EA is planning to release multiple games from Respawn Entertainment before the end of next year, possibly including a VR title.

Call Of CthulhuGame review: Call Of Cthulhu offers a new take on cosmic survival horror

Its two years now since the release of the excellent Titanfall 2, which thanks to an incredibly unhelpful release date never sold anywhere near what it deserved to.

EA has shut down developers for far less but they seem to acknowledge the failure was theirs more than developer Respawn Entertainment and the studio is known to be working on three games at the moment – and at least two of them will be out in time for Christmas next year.

This is all based on a statement [warning: PDF] from EA about their upcoming slate, where they reveal that, Across multiple studios, we have new projects underway, including games from Respawn that are slated to launch by next holiday season.

That may seem ambiguous but by saying games in the plural it actually gives quite a lot away, as at the moment Respawn are known to be working on three titles: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Titanfall 3, and an Oculus Rift VR game.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is presumably the furthest along, since it was announced first, but it seems to be enduring as troubled a production as all EAs other Star Wars games.

More: Gaming

Fallen Order is vaguely implied to be a spiritual sequel to the Jedi Knight games and is a third person game set between the prequel and original trilogies. But apart from the fact that God Of War III creative director Stig Asmussen is heading up the game nothing else is known about it.

Theres been zero information on Titanfall 3, which is assumed to be the furthest from release, while the VR game is known to be a shooter of some kind and not anything to do with Star Wars or Titanfall.
