‘The Rock’ shares first photo with new daughter

The birth of one baby has dominated headlines – but another famous family has also welcomed their third child.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and his partner Lauren Hashian announced the birth of their daughter, Tiana.

The actor posted a picture on Instagram of himself holding the newborn to his chest.

"Skin to skin. Our mana. Blessed and proud to bring another strong girl into this world," he wrote.

"Tiana Gia Johnson came into this world like a force of nature and Mama @laurenhashianofficial labored and delivered like a true rockstar."

Word to the wise gentlemen, its critical to be by your ladys head when shes delivering, being as supportive as you can.. holding hands, holding legs, whatever you can do. But, if you really want to understand the single most powerful and primal moment life will ever offer – watch your child being born. Its a life changer and the respect and admiration you have for a woman, will forever be boundless. And to my third and youngest daughter, Tiana Gia – like I did when your two older sisters Simone Alexandra and Jasmine Lia were born, you have my word, Ill love, protect, guide and make ya laugh for the rest of my life. Johnson revealed that he participated in the delivery, writing: "I was raised and surrounded by strong, loving women all my life, but after participating in baby Tias delivery, its hard to express the new level of love, respect and admiration I have for @laurenhashianofficial and all mamas and women out there."

He urged other men to "be by your ladys head when shes delivering, being as supportive as you can.. holding hands, holding legs, whatever you can do".

The star added: "If you really want to understand the single most powerful and primal moment life will ever offer – watch your child being born.

"It's a life changer and the respect and admiration you have for a woman, will forever be boundless."

The 45-year-old father, who is an American actor, producer, and semi-retired professional wrestler, wrote: "Your crazy dad has many responsibilities and wears many hats in this big ol world, but being your dad will always be the one Im most proud to wear."

He closed his post saying: "Oh and one more thing.. youre gonna love rollin in daddys pick up truck."

Christmas came early! Within minutes of being born she was laying on daddy's chest. And being a grateful man takes on a whole new meaning… Thank you guys so much for the awesome congratulatory wishes and love you've been sending @laurenhashianofficial and myself. We're extremely grateful. Kinda crazy but in this cool and powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe… Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday. If I can accomplish that, then I'd have a good shot at being a great father. To all you young men out there who will be fathers one day, the goal of "being better" will never steer you wrong. Trust me I've been down this road. Something else that'll never steer you wrong is "walking thru the fire" with your baby's mama. I was right there during labor, helping her breathe, every highly intense contraction, every second of pain, right there watching the actual birth, cutting the cord and wiping the tears. Incredible. *(Now don't get me wrong boys, it wasn't like I was at the end of the table, squatting like a catcher waiting for the fastball to come down the pike.. but as men, it's a miracle we should witness because it'll give you a whole new respect for the strength and beauty of a woman).
