Tess Daly has been left heartbroken after she accidentally ran over and killed her pet dog Minnie.
The 49-year-old Strictly Come Dancing host was returning home to her Buckinghamshire mansion in her Range Rover when the accident happened, after the builders left the door open and Minnie ran out the house.
Unaware her Maltese Shih Tzu had escaped, Tess didnt have time to react before accidentally hitting her beloved dog.
Speaking to The Sun On Sunday, Tess said: Ive devastated by this terrible accident. Its a dog owners worst nightmare.
It has had a huge effect on the whole family and we are heartbroken at losing Minnie. This has, and continues to be, a very emotional time for us all.
The accident is said to have happened last month, days before the family were scheduled to go on holiday to the Maldives for Tesss 50th birthday on 27 April.

Tess, husband Vernon Kay, are said to have considered putting off the holiday, but decided to go to cheer up their two daughters Phoebe, 14, and Amber, nine. They returned from the two-week break on Friday.
