Stormzy surprised fans after being announced as the first headliner for this years Glastonbury festival.
Critics were confused by the news, with many questioning whether the Shut Up Rapper was big enough to command a headline spot, following in the footsteps of Beyonce, Jay-Z, David Bowie and the Rolling Stones.
However, the 25-year-old is adamant he can silence critics with an epic performance, when he takes to the stage on Friday, 28 June.
I cant wait. Ive got mad underdog syndrome, but I got confidence, too. I feel like I have so much to prove, but at the end of the day, Im Stormzy – and Im meant to be here, he told Elle Magazine UK.

This is the biggest moment. The biggest stage, the biggest all-eyes-on-me kind of spotlight in my career, ever. But if you are waiting for the headliner to give you the Glastonbury headline-calibre performance, then have no fear, calm down, settle.
You see how Coldplay or Beyoncé or Radiohead treat Glastonbury? Its just another show; a day in the office – only its the biggest fucking day in the office, ever.
Stormzy is the first UK rapper to headline the festival, after Jay-Z flew the flag for the US way back in 2008.
But he is the first to admit he understands where some of the criticism about his gig has come from, with his debut album, Gang Signs And Prayer only being released in 2017.
I get it. Only one album, wheres all the number ones? But I think the argument doesnt even deserve the fuel, he continued.
When 28 June comes, either everyone will be proved right or wrong, but I am the headliner and I will come and give you a headline performance. I am looking forward to doing exactly what I know I am capable of doing.
We think hell absolutely smash it.
And hes not the only big name on the billing for the summer festival, which kicks off on 26 June, as Kylie Minogue will also be performing in the coveted legends slot.

Janelle Monae will also be headlining on the West Holts stage at some point during the musical extravaganza, eight years after she performed on the very same stage.
However, as excited as we all are for Glasto, its not the only thing Stormzy is putting his energy into at the moment, with a new album on the way soon.
And the Blinded By Your Grace star vowed it will be bigger, better and braver than his first attempt.
Count. Us. In.
The February issue of ELLE UK is on sale 10th January 2018.
