Simon Cowell seems to have exhausted the human talent pool because hes moving onto the animal kingdom.

The Britains Got Talent judge is reportedly embarking on the most bizarre entertainment project of the decade as he attempts to sell a band of performing monkeys to the British public.

Music mogul Simon, 59, is believed to be creating an animated band of four British monkey members based on bands like Take That, One Direction and The Beatles.

Theres been no mention of The Monkees or Gorillaz at this stage, but were starting to see the resemblance.

A source told The Sun on Tuesday: Simon wants to create the next big thing in music and he thinks a band of monkeys based on mega boybands like 1D could be the answer.

Its his passion project and it helps that he wont have to deal with the egos of human popstars.

The source added: This is the most bizarre entertainment project of the decade.

And he has big things in mind for his band because its understood that Simon, who is providing the soundtrack, is working with BGTs David Walliams to produce a film script for the four-piece.

Simons wild project has all the hallmarks of Damon Albarns 2D animated Gorillaz band, which earned the Guinness World Record for Most Successful Virtual Band.

Though it will obviously tap into the global success of X Factor-formed 1D, along with the enduring appeal of man band Take That.

Theres also the advancement of hologram performances that will likely contribute to The Monkeys success.

Earlier this year, it was announced – to some controversy – that late musician Amy Winehouse would go on tour in 2019 using the magic of theatrical stagecraft, almost eight years after her death.

Plus, theres the added benefit that Simon wont have to share any of the proceeds with four band members or deal with their demands and inevitable departures.
