Shiny Sableye Pokemon GO News: How to catch Shiny Sableye as Halloween Event 2018 nears (Pic: NIANTIC)

Pokemon GO Developers Niantic have just launched a brand new Psychic event that started last night.

However, it's largely accepted that Niantic will also bring back the games annual Halloween inspired ghost event in a couple of weeks time.

In fact, a recent Pokemon GO newsletter has recently teased the events return announcing:

"Prof. Willow has reported a wave of frights and scares nearby. Could this be the work of a Ghost-type Pokémon? Stay tuned to find out."

So that's as good as confirmed then.

And assuming all goes to plan, it means trainers have increased odds to catch one of the games pre-existing Shiny Pokemon – Sableye!

Keep reading for everything you need to know if you want to add this particular shiny to your dex!

At the time of writing, it's not entirely clear how many ways players will have to encounter a shiny Sableye during any forthcoming Pokemon GO Halloween event.

As such, it's impossible to say exactly how limited your chances will be to encounter the Shiny gem-loving Dark/Ghost Pokemon.

To try and make things easy we've broken down all of the potential ways you might be able to encounter a Shiny Sableye – which is slightly more confusing than other Pokemon thanks to its status as a 'mon that can appear in Raids.

The Pokemon only has one weakness (Fairy) though it's held back from being much use in battle thanks to its overall low stats, particularly Stamina.

Egg Hatches:

Sableye is not currently hatching from any eggs. So that rules that option out.

Raid Battles:

Sableye has appeared in Raids, and usually, Raid Pokemon have a better chance of coming out Shiny – so bear that in mind once the event starts and make sure you have lots of good Dragonites, Raikous and Moltres in order to counter the lil monster.

In the Wild:

Sableye should be quite common during the Halloween event and this will likely be your best bet if you want to encounter a shiny. According to Silph Road research, there's about a 1/450 chance of encountering a Shiny Pokemon in the wild. It's worth noting that your chances will reduce once the event ends.

To boost your chances, head over to the Silph Road Global Nest Atlas to find your nearest Shuppet nest, because obviously, the more you encounter, the higher your odds.

Halloween Field Research?

Assuming that we get a 2018 Halloween event (which seems fairly likely) it's quite likely there will be some special field research. In which case, there may be increased chances of finding a shiny by completing the field research.

But obviously, </span>like eggs, it's a lot more effort when compared to simply finding a nest and catching one in the wild.
