SM Entertainment have announced the first posthumous release from SHINee’s Jonghyun.
The singer tragically died by suicide on 18 December in his hotel room after a battle with depression, and SM Entertainment have now announced plans to release music in his honour.
The company’s last song of the year will be entitled Dear My Family, and will feature the vocals of Jonghyun. The track will be released as part of the SM Station series and has a ‘memorial’ theme.
The video for the song features footage from behind the scenes of the concert where the artists played at the SMTown world tour – including the 27-year-old. All of the proceeds from the track will go to Unicef.

Kangta, BoA, TRAX, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, Red Velvet, and NCT also feature.
This may be the first of many posthumous releases as Jonghyun had recorded an album of material before his death. It’s not yet known when or if SM Entertainment will release the music.
