PS4 WARNING: Sony ALERT over hack that can reset YOUR PlayStation 4 via PSN messages (Pic: SONY)
If you value your saved games, your data and all your purchased, downloaded items, you're probably going to want to make some changes to your PSN settings.
Thanks to a new exploit being favoured by hackers online, Sony has issued a warning to gamers, urging them to set their messages to 'PRIVATE' within PSN.
According to the company, receiving a certain message on PS4 allegedly leaves players unable to use their console without a factory reset afterwards.
The advice from PlayStation Support is to delete the message on mobile and boot their consoles into safe mode, but many players are advising others to change their message settings in response to this new hack.
