PS4 players looking for something to do this Sunday have got themselves one excellent free game to trial.

Iceborne's story picks up shortly after the main game's conclusion and takes players to a slowly unravelling locale known as Hoarfrost Reach. Capcom says it's the game's largest region.

If the name of the expansion and the new area wasn't clue enough, the area is blanketed in snow and is cold – requiring players to visit hot springs or drink hot drinks to maintain their combat effectiveness.

We had the chance to play Monster Hunter World: Iceborne at E3, so if you want to know what to look forward to, click the link.

Those interested in Iceborne will need to invest in Monster Hunter World to play. Thankfully, it's already an epic action-RPG you can play with friends.

Only PlayStation Plus users can take part in this beta for the game, but as mentioned, there's not long left to make the most of it.

At 3am PDT/11am BST on Monday, June 24 the beta ends. It's not ALL bad though, because you can take part in the free trial next week too.

Only next time all PS4 users (this means you won't have to have an active PS Plus membership) can take part from 3am PDT/11am BST on Friday, June 28 until 3am PDT/11am BST on Monday, July 1.

The beta is available to preload now, and you do not need the full Monster Hunter World game in order to try it out.

Monster Hunter Iceborne beta – What's included?

The beta offers players three quest choices, including the beginner-friendly Great Jagras hunt from Monster Hunter: World for newcomers, the brand new horned brute wyvern Banbaro for an intermediate challenge or returning series favorite Tigrex for the fiercest of hunters.

The beta will let players test out all 14 weapon types in any of the three quests and the training area.

The weapons include new features plus there are new Slinger tool options such as the Clutch Claw grapple mechanic.

Upon completing each quest for the first time, hunters can earn a total of three item packs containing helpful consumable items that will be available to use in the full version of the Iceborne expansion when it releases.

With more monsters and game info to be revealed, this is just the tip of the Ice-borne!
