Pokemon GO players aren't exactly short of Shiny Pokemon to capture at the moment.

Putting aside the recently added Shiny Caterpie as part of the November Field Research and worldwide event that saw Shiny Pinsir introduced, Pokemon GO players have well over 120 Shiny Pokemon in the game already.

Add to that the Shiny Ponyta and Aloloan Marowak Niantic added to the game as part of its Ingress Prime celebration, and you have a lot of new shiny choice in the title.

BUT, keen to keep on pumping out content, Niantic has also revealed that as of the release of the Sinnoh Stone in Pokemon Go, players can now also acquire a shiny Elekid and Electabuzz.

This week, Niantic has started up a new event – the Hatchathon. The event is live now and will last until November 27th at 9pm GMT.

Niantic has stated: "Pokémon with evolved forms originally discovered in the Sinnoh region—such as Rhyhorn, Porygon, and Magby—will be in 2 km Eggs!"

Elekid that hatch in 2km Eggs during this new event and will have an increased chance of being Shiny, according to the developer.

Shiny Elekid and the rest of his line gain a more orange tint added to its yellow coloring.
