Pokemon GO Shiny Delibird: How to catch Shiny Delibird in Pokemon GO Christmas Event? (Pic: Daily Star)

Pokemon GO players aren't exactly short of Shiny Pokemon to capture at the moment. Especially not after the flurry of shiny Pokemon available during the December Community Day.

Needless to say though, if you're not tired of trying to catch the 120+ Shiny Pokemon in the game already we have some good news for you.

There's another extra special festive Shiny Pokemon for you to catch as of this evening. That's because players can now catch the shiny purple Delibird.

This looks to have been added as part of the games new Christmas event which started at 9pm GMT this evening.

First up, we're going to be seeing more Ice-Type Pokemon spawn into all areas of the game. We're also going to see double Candy bonuses for catching and transferring Pokémon (until December 22).

Heatran has also now taken over Raid duties from Cresselia – we'll have more info on that soon.

We're likely to get some other updates, too – and we'll let you know what they are once we've figured them out, but for now, keep reading for everything you need to know about catching yourself that brand new Shiny Delibird.

Shiny Delibird has only just this second been made available in the game, so for the time being, we're stilling compiling all the ways you can encounter a Shiny purple Delibird in the game.

Although, as soon as that's made clear we'll be sure to update this story.

Keep reading as we've broken down all of the potential ways you might be able to encounter a Shiny Misdreavus moving forward.

Egg Hatches:

At the time of writing Delibird cannot hatch from eggs.

Raid Battles:

To our knowledge Delibird is not currently a raid boss, so that rules that option out.

In the Wild:

Delibird is spawning in the wild with increased spawning rates at present due to the new Christmas event.

However, to increase your chances of encountering a shiny, you want to go somewhere spawning as many Delibird as possible. Especially since Silph Road Research has suggested previously that the base wild encounter shiny rate is roughly 1 in 450.

We'd suggest that to boost your chances you should head over to the Silph Road Global Nest Atlas to find your nearest Delibird nest, because obviously, the more you encounter, the higher your odds for finding a shiny.

With Field Research:

Currently, you cannot encounter Delibird by completing Field Research Tasks.
