The Pokemon GO Community Day is a massive event in the games monthly calendar, and the next community day is going live this Sunday, bringing with it a whole host of reasons to get out at play the game on iPhone and Android smartphones.
Although Niantic frames the event as the perfect way for trainers to come together and meet up to play the game, it also provides (perhaps more importantly) the chance for trainers to catch some rather unique Pokemon.
In the case of this upcoming Community Event, players should find a wealth of Beldum spawning in park areas.
But better still, if youre lucky enough to evolve a Beldum into Metacross during that three-hour window, it will learn the exclusive move, Meteor Mash.

For UK based players, Sunday's Community Day event is scheduled to begin at 10am in the UK lasting until 1pm in the afternoon.
This isn't all though because there are additional bonuses in effect during the event, such as Lure Modules which last for three hours during the event and reduced egg distances of just a 1/4.
So that means even the biggest 10km egg distances only require 2.5KM walking distance to hatch – and it's even less if you're using a super incubator!
So, even if you don't necessarily want to get and play in a group, there are still great reasons to ensure you're playing Pokemon Go regardless.

Will there be a new shiny?
Niantic NEVER confirms whether or not an event will include a shiny version of the Pokemon headlining a Community Day.
HOWEVER.
Given that so far every single Pokemon GO Community Day event to date has offered the chance to catch a shiny variant of Pokemon, we think it's pretty nailed on that there will be a Shiny Beldum in October.
For those who need reminding, a Shiny will not appear as shiny in the game until you enter the catch screen. Equally, the Pokemon which appear are random for each player.
So just because someone finds a shiny in the wild, it doesn't mean it will also be shiny for you or anyone else playing around you.
In short, keep catching Community Day Pokemon until you happen to find a shiny. It's potluck, but catching as many as possible will increase your chances!
