Pete Doherty is accused of watching as his pet Huskies savaged a neighbours cat to death, reports claim.

Witnesses say they saw the Babyshambles singer with the Siberian dogs off their leads at around 9am on Monday when the attack is said to have happened.

The rockers neighbour, Penny Ward, says her eight-year-old cat Archie was dragged around like a rag doll for 10 minutes.

Penny, a retired nurse, also told The Sun: He hasnt even bothered to come around and say sorry. It is disgusting that he should be taking powerful and aggressive dogs like that for walks off their leads.

Petes Huskies were reportedly off their leash when the attack happened

He is responsible for Archies death. It could have been a child. I hope hes a better singer than a dog owner.

Sharing her grief over the loss of Archie, whom she rescued in 2010, the 70-year-old added: Archie used to follow me everywhere and sit on the dresser in the kitchen purring his head off.

It is awful. I feel so sad. I just have to keep busy to take my mind off him.

An anonymous witness says they saw the dogs running off their leads with what they initially thought to be a black bin liner in their mouths but, on closer look, realised it was a cat.

Pete was allegedly due to be questioned by police in relation to the incident

One dog was trying to pull the cat from the mouth of the other dog. Doherty was calm despite the cat being barely alive.

Another witness, Peter St George-Smith said: I shouted at him, “Keep your fucking dogs under control”. He took no responsibility.

Bus driver Christopher Smith offered a similar account and said: The dogs were tossing the cat around like it was a bag.

Doherty put one of the dogs in a harness, the other one was not on a lead. I called him a wanker.
