SUMI JO IN CONCERT WITH JOSE CARBO
Acclaimed as one of the world's greatest exponents of bel canto, Korean coloratura soprano Sumi Jo returns to the Melbourne Recital Centre on Tuesday, July 17, as part of an Australian tour. Joined on stage for the first time by Argentine-born baritone Jose Carbo and accompanied by pianist Guy Noble, she will present pieces from opera and operetta along with tango and traditional folk song from Jo's native Korea. IRISH CELTIC – SPIRIT OF IRELAND
Showcasing the finest performers from leading Irish dance companies, Irish Celtic makes its debut at The Palms at Crown from July 31 and there are five doubles (worth $999 in total) to join the opening night audience. Drawing on spectacular choreography and accompanied by a five-piece on-stage band, the action takes place in a traditional pub in southern Ireland in a show that demonstrates the love of dance that has permeated Irish culture through the centuries along with illustrating Ireland's history amidst the swirling skirts and flagon-loads of friendliness.
