Liam Payne is reportedly ‘more committed to a pop star lifestyle than becoming a real family man’ with girlfriend Cheryl.
Previous reports claimed that Liam had proposed to Cheryl after the birth of their son Bear in March 2017 but she turned him down, and new reports have suggested that Liam has been keen to spend time on the road after he was turned down.
‘Up until now everyone has assumed it’s Cheryl who has gone cold on the relationship but it’s the other way around,’ a source close to Liam revealed.
The pair attempted to put rumours of a split to bed as they walked the Brits red carpet arm in arm; Cheryl, 34, beamed as she held a long-stemmed white rose while Liam, 24, kept a close arm around his girlfriend and the mother of his son.
But now a source has told The Sun that ‘Cheryl is very conscious of the fact she’s viewed as someone who has had a string of failed relationships’ and is therefore, understandably, cautious of the way her romance with Liam is viewed by the public.
The pair are thought to be reuniting for the first birthday of their son Bear later in March although it turns out Cheryl and Liam are keen to keep things on the small scale this year in order to avoid Bear ‘growing up spoilt’.
‘They’re planning an intimate family party for Bear’s first birthday with just their immediate family members from both sides,’ they told the publication. ‘They didn’t want to have a big party, they want to enjoy the day with their close family.
‘They have asked for no presents as they don’t want to spoil Bear and they are hosting at their house.’
