Lea Michele has joined her fellow Glee cast in paying tribute to their co-star Cory Monteith.

The 32-year-old started to date the late actor when they starred in the musical TV series together, as Finn and Rachel.

However, after battling both an alcohol and heroin addiction, the 31-year-old tragically passed away from an overdose just six years ago.

Taking to Twitter on the anniversary of his death, Lea shared a picture of the sun rising over the sea, just as she had in previous years.

In the caption, she posted the quote: The light always remains.

The mourning singer then followed this with a love heart emoji.

Her fellow cast members were quick to show support, and also remembered their friend on Twitter.

Kevin McHale wrote: The sweetest boy. Forever, while Amber Riley took to Instagram, adding: Six years without those bear hugs.

Earlier this month, Lea pined over her love as she showed off one of her tattoo tributes to the star.

The word Finn could be seem written on her thigh as she posed in her underwear for the snap.

This is at least one of two bits of ink Lea has to remember Cory by, as she also got the number five to represent the jersey his character wore in Glee.

At the time of her boyfriends, it was said the star was left devastated after finding out the awful news.

We ask that everyone kindly respect Leas privacy during this devastating time, her publicist said in a statement.

Lea has since moved on and found love in clothing company boss Zandy Reich.
