Kanye West was told Kim Kardashians sex tape would ruin his career if he chose to date her.

The rapper was warned off now-wife Kim nine years after her illicit 2003 leak but Kanye was too stubborn to let anyone tell him what to do.

Kim, who is now the mum of his three kids, revealed why Kanye stood up for her when they started dating in 2012 and continues to lift her up.

Weve been through a lot together, Kim told Van Jones this week. You know, Ive known him for 15 years now.

[Kanye] put himself up against the world for me when everyone told him, “You cannot date a girl with a sex tape. You cannot date a reality show girl. This is going to ruin your career.” Everyone told him that.

To me, he was like, “Oh, youre not going to tell me what to do. Ill let you know that its going to be okay.” And he always was that strength for me. So Ill always love and appreciate him for always standing up for me.

After four years of marriage, Kim says husband Kanye continues hold her hand and lift her up higher with confidence.
