Kanye West surprised no one as he took the mic for a political message on Saturday Night Live (Picture: BACKGRID)

After going off on the cast of SNL on Saturday night, Kanye West created a bit of an uncomfortable atmosphere.

Thats according to those in the know, apparently, who commented on Yes political rant in which he donned his controversial Make America Great Again hat over the weekend.

It was claimed by sources that the rapper dragged everyone back out on stage, only to accuse them of trying to bully him into not wearing the hat.

The bullying claims were inaccurate, a source shared with PEOPLE, adding hed made it uncomfortable for the cast and host Adam Driver, by calling them back onstage and not saying why before he unloaded.

They added the show had been supportive of Ye and gave him the opportunity to sing the third song of the night, while other musical acts get two, before he used it for his political speech.

No one bullied him about wearing the MAGA hat. He wore it in promos and all week before the show even aired and was asking everyone if they thought he should wear the hat, interns, anyone walking by who would listen, the insider told the website.

Kanye was booed by the audience, while some politely clapped, as he took the mic and started going on about Trump – a leader who is often the centre of satirical mockery on the show.

He said: You see they laughing at me. You heard em, they scream at me, they bully me. They bullied me backstage they said, “Dont go out there with that hat on.” They bullied me backstage. They bullied me, he said as show cut to the credits.

Removing his MAGA hat, he continued: And then they say Im in a sunken place. You want to see the sunken place? Okay, Ima listen to yall now.

He then put the hat back on and said: Or Ima put my Superman cape on, which means you cant tell me what to do.

Earlier hed told the audience: so many times I talk to a white person about this, and they say, “How could you support Trump? Hes racist”.

Well if I was concerned about racism, I would have moved out of America a long time ago. We dont just make our decisions off of racism. Ima break it down to you right now: If someone inspires me and I connect with them, I dont have to believe in all they policies.

Now you got a situation where we need to have a dialogue and not a diatribe because if you want something to change, its not going to change by saying, “F*** that person.” Try love. Try love. Try love. Try love.

Chris Rock was all of us as he also recorded the moment on Instagram Stories and could be heard whispering my God as he kept the camera rolling.
