Kanye West left Saturday Night Live audiences stunned when he took over the mic from host Adam Driver and began speaking about President Donald Trump and his decision to wear a Make America Great Again hat.
You see they laughing at me. You heard em, they scream at me, they bully me. They bullied me backstage they said, “Dont go out there with that hat on.” They bullied me backstage. They bullied me, he said as show cut to the credits.
Removing his MAGA hat, he continued: And then they say Im in a sunken place. You want to see the sunken place? Okay, Ima listen to yall now.
He then put the hat back on and said: Or Ima put my Superman cape on, which means you cant tell me what to do.
The oration was caught on camera by audience members, some of whom clapped politely while others booed; Chris Rock also recorded the moment on Instagram Stories and could be heard whispering my God as he kept the camera rolling.

The moment occured at the end of the episode when the cast members and band were all on stage; Kanye also invited fellow artists Kid Cudi, 070 Shake and Ty Dolla $ign on stage.
Kanye started off by singing: I wanna cry right now. Black man in America, youre supposed to keep what you feel inside right now. And the liberals bully you and tell you what you can and cannot wear, where you and they cant not stare. And they look at me and say, “Its not fair. How the hell did you get here?” Well.
He then told the audience that so many times I talk to a white person about this, and they say, “How could you support Trump? Hes racist”.
Well if I was concerned about racism, I would have moved out of America a long time ago. We dont just make our decisions off of racism. Ima break it down to you right now: If someone inspires me and I connect with them, I dont have to believe in all they policies.
Now you got a situation where we need to have a dialogue and not a diatribe because if you want something to change, its not going to change by saying, “F*** that person.” Try love. Try love. Try love. Try love.

Kanyes support for Trump has left many fans shocked, mainly thanks to Trumps connections with the alt-right.
They first posed for pictures weeks after Trump was elected president in 2016, with the pair posing for pictures along with Trumps daughter Ivanka.
In April 2018, Kanye returned to Twitter and showed off his signed MAGA hat in a now-deleted tweet.
He also wrote: You dont have to agree with trump but the mob cant make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I dont agree with everything anyone does. Thats what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.
Trump retweeted this and wrote: Thank you Kanye, very cool!
