Japan’s not happy with Logan Paul either after more videos emerge of his offensive trip

On 1 January, Logan Paul uploaded a video to his YouTube page of an apparent suicide in Japan’s Aokigahara forest. It was offensive in every sense – but as it turns out, so was the rest of his trip to the country.

On 30 December, Paul uploaded another video to his channel called ‘We Fought In The Middle Of Tokyo!’ in which the 22-year-old and his friends take on every aspect of Japanese culture and turn it into something deeply offensive.

In the ten-minute vid entitled ‘We fought in the middle of Tokyo’, Logan terrorises locals with a fish and some squid, slapping it on the window of a Starbucks, before leaving it on the trunk of a taxi. He buys a Gameboy and smashes it in the street before taking it back to the shop owner and tries to return it using some stereotypical racist language (‘Mucho brokeno’).

In another video entitled ‘Kicked out of Japan (I’m sorry)’, he and his friends run around Tokyo in traditional Japanese garments.

In a third video entitled ‘Real Life Pokemon in Tokyo’, Paul throws a Pokeball at a Japanese policeman. He later takes his trousers off in the middle of the street.

‘I swear Tokyo is just a giant playground,’ Paul says at one point during one of the videos. ‘Maybe it’s not. Maybe I should stop. Probably not.’

Yeah, he should have probably stopped.

The comments on Paul’s videos from Japanese viewers are pretty telling as to how they feel about his antics.

‘Do not come to Japan anymore,’ says one translated comment, whilst another added: ‘It is tasteless and meaningless. His behavior is very disappointing.’

And it doesn’t stop there – one literally couldn’t understand why Logan is so well-loved: ‘I do not know the reason why such a person is popular.’

Another strongly worded response read: ‘You are a silly excuse for human being. If I see you, I will not hesitate to kick your balls.’

Oof. The Japanese people have spoken, and they are not impressed.

Logan later uploaded a grovelling apology to the criticism of his video of the Japanese ‘suicide forest’, saying that he ‘doesn’t expect to be forgiven’.

He began: ‘I made a severe and continuous lapse of my judgement and I don’t expect to be forgiven. I’m just here to apologise. What we came across that day in the woods was obviously unplanned. The reactions that you saw on tape were raw, they were unfiltered.

‘None of us knew how to react or how to feel. I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through.

‘I’m ashamed of myself. I’m disappointed in myself and i promise to be better. I will be better. Thank you.’

But it seems that maybe Logan should extend his apology to the people of Japan for everything else he did on his trip – sounds like they need it.
