Epic Games revealed earlier this week that a live event is set to take place in the game this weekend to conclude Fortnitemares.

It looks like it is set to involve the cube that continues to change and transform in the game.

The purple cube, nicknamed Kevin, first appeared on the map during season 5 and made its way through different areas and leaving behind runes.

At the start of season 6 it then lifted up the middle island in Loot Lake and started moving around the map again before returning to its original spot.

Its not yet known what exactly will happen when the live event happens, but the cube is likely to transform one more time.

The one-time event will start at 1pm ET/ 6pm GMT on Sunday 4 November.

You will need to log-in to one of the Fortnitemares modes to watch as it wont be available in Playground.

During previous events players have had issues getting into the game because of queue times, so it is advised that you give yourself plenty of time to get into the Fortnite servers.

What is in the new update?

One of the biggest additions this week is the new balloon item that players can use to float into the air.

It has epic rarity with 20 deployable balloons that can be used at a maximum of six at a time.

They are can be found in floor loot, chests, Supply Drops, Supply Llamas and Vending Machines.

Three weapons have also been vaulted during this update – semi-auto sniper, guided missile and the dual pistols.

The other major news is that Epic Games has decided to continue having glider re-deploy enabled.

It was originally being tested at the start of the last update and the success has led to developers deciding to keep it around for now.

This is a decision that has already divided the community but there are plans to change and improve the feature in the future.
