RE: Hubert and choosing between PlayStation VR or Oculus Quest. Thats a tough one. I think youd be deciding between PlayStation VRs superior catalogue of games against the better VR experience of the Quest.
The Quests far better resolution, especially if you dont have a Pro which will offer increased sharpness over the PlayStation 4 base model; far superior motion-tracking; and ability to further pull you into the VR experience by being wireless are huge pluses over PlayStation VR. A game that both platforms share will be a better experience on the Quest even if there is a slight graphical downgrade over PlayStation VR.
The downside is that not being tethered to powerful base hardware means some games just wont be achievable on the Quest. For instance, No Mans Sky gets a VR patch soon for PlayStation VR and PC. Is that game possible on Quest? if so will it be stripped back to inch of its life to do so?
PlayStation VR does have the better games for me though, with Sony giving it strong support, and of course itll run on PlayStation 5, so it is future-proofed a little. But the wires are troublesome, the resolution is good but not great, and the motion-tracking is sub-standard. Not to mention that the motion controllers are really expensive still, at £60 to £70.
As either choice means compromising, Id say wait until PlayStation VR 2 or Quest 2. But both are a long way off and current gen VR is a really fun even in its early stage. So, I think if the choice were mine I would Read More – Source
